Welcome to Emmanuel United Church of Christ

In the ancient world, various peoples lit fires to mark the turning of the light into winter’s season and to pray for the return of the light. The church has Christianized that practice in the lighting of the Advent wreath.

Our Advent scriptures are often filled with foreboding shadows, but never without a glimpse of […]

Our Christmas Program this year is “Christmas – by the Book” and will be presented during worship on December 14. As we celebrate Christmas, it is especially important to recall that this event was predicted […]

We will meet after Worship on December 14 for caroling. We’ll raise our voices and spirits as we sing songs of the season to residents of our local nursing homes and to our homebound. Come with us and sing glory to the newborn king!

Special Music :: Christmas Eve

Anyone wishing to present music prior to the Christmas Eve Early Service is asked to see Denise Dean. We will begin at 7:00 pm and conclude at 7:30 pm. If you are more inclined to read a poem or selection, that would be very welcome also.

Our Christmas Party will be held on December 13 from 11 am to 12 pm. We are asking all the kids to bring a piece of fruit for the baskets for our shut-ins and a new or “gently used” stuffed animal or toy to be wrapped for the children of the McKinney Clinic. We are […]

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, — Colossians 1:9 (NIV)
